How to set up your kit
How to set up your kit
Place one compressed peat pellet into the growing container.
Add 3 tablespoons of water and allow about 10 minutes for the pellet to fully expand.
Once expanded, gently break apart the peat and spread it evenly across the base of the container.
Sprinkle half the seed packet evenly across the surface.
Place the container in a dark spot for 2 to 3 days while the seeds begin to sprout.
Once the seeds have sprouted, move the container to a bright spot with indirect light.
Add small amounts of water as needed to keep the growing medium damp but not soaked.
Microgreens are usually ready to harvest in 7 to 10 days. Cut the greens just above the growing medium using scissors. Use the second peat pellet and remaining seeds to grow your next batch.
Feeding to Your Bird
Always wash and drain freshly cut microgreens before offering them to your bird. Cut only what you need and serve them fresh. Do not allow your bird to eat directly from the container. Do not allow birds to eat the peat growing medium. Do not offer rotten or mouldy microgreens to your bird.
